Ñ What is it?
A few people have reported that Choosier will not start up at their site (the Choosier application dies with a Type 11 error). This kit is being made available to help debug the problem since it is not reproducible by the author here at the University of Michigan. If you are not encountering errors that prevent Choosier from starting up, you probably do not need this kit.
This kit includes two pieces: a Choosier Preferences file that turns off the zone hierarchy code and a DumpZones utility that will produce a text file that contains a list of all the zones on your AppleTalk network. Please follow of Steps 1 through 3 below

Ñ Step 1: Try Choosier after installing the preferences file contained in this kit.
a. Make sure Choosier is not running (if you are using this kit, you probably were unsuccessful in getting it to run at all).
b. Drag the Choosier Preferences file into the Preferences folder inside your System folder. You may need to replace a file with the same name (which Choosier created).
c. Launch Choosier and see if it works (the zones will be listed in a flat list just like in Apple's Chooser). If this works, the problem you are experiencing is probably due to a bug in Choosier's zone-parsing code. If Choosier is still not working, make a not of what error you see.
d. Go on to Step 2 whether this worked or not.
Ñ╩Step 2: Produce a list of all the zones present on your AppleTalk network.
a. Launch the DumpZones utility program and quit when it tells you to do so.
b. A plain text file called "zonelist" should have been created in the directory you started DumpZones from. You can look at it with TeachText or SimpleText or any text editor to see that it contains the date and a list of zones found on your network (and possibly an error message). This list should help the Choosier author in debugging the problems you and others are experiencing.
c. Go on to step 3 (whether this worked or not).
Ñ Step 3: Report the results of performing Steps 1 and 2 above via Internet e-mail to choosier@umich.edu, and send along the zonelist file produced in step 2 as well. Thanks for your help!
